Xcel Energy Set to Begin Construction at Daniel’s Gate Substation
Xcel North-South Powerline Corridor
by Lane Roberts
Xcel Energy is set to begin construction at the Daniel’s Park substation the week of August 6. Initial work on the project includes the installation of grading, erosion and sedimentation control measures approved by Douglas County. Grading at the substation is scheduled for the week of August 13.
Construction of the new transmission lines is scheduled to begin the week of September 10. Installation of the new lines will begin at the Daniel’s Park substation and work toward the south. The power line upgrading project is for the middle set of lines located in the existing transmission corridor that runs north-south through Castle Pines North. Following the upgrade, the center set of power lines will be identical to the largest set of lines which were replaced in February, 2005.
