Wreck on Parkway Signals Need for Improvements
Residents Needed to Work for Traffic Signal Change, Other Safety Issues
The two-vehicle crash on Thursday morning, October 23, was caused by a driver failing to yield to oncoming traffic, said Lt. Tim Moore of Douglas County Sheriff’s Dept.
A vehicle that was heading south on Monarch attempted to turn left onto the Parkway, and was hit by a vehicle going north on Monarch. Minor injuries were reported, and the left-turning driver was cited with careless driving resulting in injury.
Residents have complained about the short green cycle at that very light, and the accident shows that it is time to do something about it.
Changing the timing of the signals, or adding a left-turn arrow, can only happen if the County receives a push from the community.
Volunteers are being sought to work on this traffic issue and other safety concerns. Please contact safety@cpnhoa.org or call 303-482-3078.
