Womenade event raises funds for families in need

Womenade, a group of women “making lemonade out of life’s lemons,” celebrated the season December 5 and raised more than $2,000 for families in need. Leslie Beauchamp of Bell Mountain Ranch hosted the well-attended event, and everyone enjoyed the holiday decorations and themed trees throughout Beauchamp’s home.

Womenade holds quarterly potlucks in homes in Castle Pines, Castle Rock and other nearby areas to raise funds to help with needs that otherwise might not be met. Womenade encourages bringing a potluck dish to share and a $25 donation, which adds up when friends bring friends. The gatherings are an opportunity to make new friends in the community and give a hand-up.

One-hundred percent of the donations collected, more than $70,000 to date, are given to women or families in need in the area, all of whom are nominated through the Womenade network.
