Welcome to Cougars Lacrosse
Cougars Lacrosse emphasizes teaching the players proper fundamentals along with emphasizing good sportsmanship and team play.
The Cougars offer teams for boys 2nd through 8th grade and girls 4th through 8th grade. The season starts mid to late February and runs through the month of May with an optional end of season tournament the first week in June. Practices and home games are played in the Castle Rock area (Butterfield Park, Castle Rock Middle School). Away games can be from Colorado Springs to the Denver metropolitan area.
Required equipment for boys are a lacrosse helmet, gloves, shoulder pads, arm pads, mouth guard and lacrosse stick. Girl’s equipment includes a girls lacrosse stick and mouth guard. Eye protection is also recommended. All lacrosse equipment can be found locally at S&S Sports in Castle Rock, or at most other large and specialty sporting goods stores. WE NEED HELP!!
Due to the growing popularity of the sport and the tremendous population growth in the Douglas County area, we expect an increase in new player request for 2004. In order for the Cougars to field additional teams we will need parents to step forward and volunteer to coach. No experience necessary. We will train you to be effective and we guarantee you will learn to love the sport of lacrosse like our players do. Just ask the lacrosse parents. Their kids can’t wait to get back on the field! Please contact Steve Herda, sherda2@aol.com, and let us know if you can help out. For more information visit www.cougarslax.com.
