Volunteers needed
Information provided by the Castle Rock Senior Activity Center
The Castle Rock Senior Activity Center (CRSAC) is ramping up in-person activities and the center needs volunteers. There are opportunities in transportation, Meals on Wheels and Volunteers of America (VOA) hot meal program.
Transportation volunteers will drive seniors to various medical facilities and businesses within Castle Rock and the surrounding areas. Volunteers must be available from 8 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. and able to drive CRSAC vehicles.
Meals on Wheels volunteers deliver frozen meal boxes to homebound Douglas County seniors in a specific zone on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Drivers will average five to seven deliveries to clients on a route.
Although the dining center is still currently closed, VOA is still offering hot meal service via curbside pick-up and delivery. Hot meals are portioned, packaged and distributed every Tuesday and Thursday. Currently, VOA is seeking substitutes who can fill in shifts as needed once or twice a month from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
All volunteers are required to complete a volunteer application online at https://www.castlerockseniorcenter.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/FILLABLE-2021-Volunteer-Application.pdf.
