Valor grants five wishes for Wish Week

Wish Week at Valor Christian High School (Valor) was a tremendous success, with students coming together to surpass their fundraising goal. The school raised more than $42,000 which allowed for five wishes for Make-A-Wish Colorado. The week was filled with energy, excitement and heartfelt moments as the Valor community rallied around their Make-A-Wish Ambassador, Mila.
Six-year-old Mila has B-cell leukemia and during one of her treatments, she and her sister watched people swim with pigs in The Bahamas. That became Mila’s wish.
Valor students participated in a variety of fun activities, from pieing teachers to indulging in sweet treats. One of the most memorable moments came when two brave students had their heads shaved by Mila herself, showing their dedication to the cause.
The celebrations also included Valor’s annual “Mr. Eagle” competition, where students showcased their creativity and school spirit. This year’s winner, senior Nathan Wren, won over the crowd—and Mila—by gifting her a guinea pig of her very own.
“It was an incredible honor and privilege for our student body to come together and help Mila’s wish come true,” said Justin Nam, head of student leadership. “You can see how much joy it brings our students to step outside of themselves during Wish Week.”
The Valor community showed up in a big way, proving that when people come together for a great cause, they can make a lasting impact.
