Tony’s Market sponsors bike ride and used bike drive for good cause

The Shops at the Village in Castle Pines will be crowded with bicyclists on Sunday, October 2, as more than 150 cyclists stop in on their way to completing a 71 mile bicycle tour throughout the Denver area. Tony’s Market is holding it’s 2nd annual “Tony’s to Tony’s Bike Ride,” which begins and ends at Tony’s market on south Broadway in Denver. Cyclists will stop at all four Tony’s Market locations to enjoy specialty food and finish the day with an Italian lunch.
The money raised from the ride thus far has been used to provide 15 new bikes to the kids at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Denver (www.GreatFuturesDenver.org), and Tony’s will use any additional funds to provide new bikes as Christmas presents to Open Doors Youth Gang Alternatives in Denver (www.therev.org).
In addition, Tony’s Market has been holding a used bicycle drive, which will also benefit the Open Doors organization. Tony’s Market in the Village Shops in Castle Pines will continue to collect used bikes through October 15th. The used bikes will be picked up and refurbished by 3t Ministry (www.3tministry.org) and given to the kids at a bike rally in April; the recipients will also receive new helmets and locks. “Our goal for the used bike drive is to be able to provide at least 50 plus refurbished bikes to the deserving youth of Denver,” said Tony Rosacci, founder of Tony’s Market.
Tony’s Market in the Village is thrilled to be a part of this event once again. The turn out last year was fantastic and they look forward to seeing and feeding even more cyclists this year. Shannon Cloud, the store director in the Village remarked, “We’re excited to offer this opportunity to the community and hope this event will keep growing!” To donate a used bike, please bring it to Tony’s Market in the Shops in the Village by October 15.
