Timber Trail’s annual fundraiser raised money for gym

The Timber Wolf Trot, formerly known as the Fun Run and Move-A-Thon, is the annual fundraiser for Timber Trail Elementary (TTE). Held every September, the event consisted of an easy run for students around a set course at the school, an epic dance battle between four TTE staff members, and treats for all afterwards. Parents and families cheered on their athlete as they completed laps. This year’s goal was to raise $45,000 for a new gym floor to replace the original, 23-year-old floor. Students and families surpassed the goal and raised more than $55,000. (More in this story.)

The Trot kicked off with the Colorado Rockies’ mascot, Dinger, participating in a relay. The In-N-Out truck supplied the meal; with a purchased ticket, students, staff and families enjoyed a complete hamburger meal. After the run, students enjoyed Kona Ice, a benchmark reward set by the school for raising $25,000 of the total goal.

There was also a pre-event fundraiser, “Where will Timber Trot?,” where, for a small donation, a cutout of Timber the Wolf traveled to students’ yards as a fun surprise.

Crazy hair day was one popular activity for students at The Timber Wolf Trot. They enjoyed showing off their crazy hairstyles full of color, twists and flare.

Staff joined in the crazy hair day fun as well. With the help of first grade teacher Ms. Booton, Matt LeClaire BASE program director showed off his crazy beard braids.

After the run, students enjoyed and cooled down with Kona Ice, a reward set by the school for raising $25,000 of the total goal.
