Twice a year, the Timber Trail Elementary (TTE) Library hosts a Scholastic Book Fair to raise money for library materials. This year, for the first time, students and their families were invited to enjoy a sweet treat along with their shopping.
Sixth grade alumni were on hand in the cafeteria to scoop ice cream and serve toppings ranging from chocolate syrup to whipped cream and a cherry.
“The ice cream social was really just for fun,” said TTE library teacher Dawn Smith. “I think events like this create community by providing a chance for families to get together.”
