Timber Trail sends sweet messages

The Timber Team, Timber Trail Elementary’s student leadership group, found a way to combine two great objectives in one ambitions project. They offered heart-shaped lollipops to students to buy for their friends and turned a tidy profit to be used to benefit the school.
“I think this is great that we can give people a way to make their friends feel good by getting them something sweet,” said nine-year-old Carson Moorhead. “And it also does something good for the school.”
Timber Team raised about $1,200 from selling a staggering 3,500 suckers that were distributed to student and teacher recipients on Valentine’s Day. The team is still deciding what they will use the money for; P.E. equipment, art supplies and a marquee display for the schools “Time Square” area are all under consideration.
