Timber Trail book worms take the 40-book challenge

Timber Trail Elementary students participated in a 40-book challenge. Throughout the school year, the kids chose books that they found interesting. A few of the titles included the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling and Scary Stories for Young Foxes by Christian McKay Heidicker.

The Timber Trail Elementary librarian offered students a 40-book reading challenge during this past school year. The goal was to read 40 books from various genres ranging from fiction and fantasy to history. Books had to meet the genre requirements but could be read in any order and accomplished via listening to audio books or through traditional reading.

When the students finished reading each book, they tracked progress individually and were asked to check in periodically with their progress and when the final 40th book was read. This personal challenge provided the students with great opportunity to embrace different genres of books.
