Market based memberships now available at The Country Club at Castle Pines

Imagine golfing at a Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, while enjoying breathtaking panoramic mountain views. Now picture yourself dining at the clubhouse and enjoying social events throughout the year. Seem too good to be true? Not anymore…
The Country Club at Castle Pines is making membership more convenient and affordable through an innovative market-based approach to golf membership sales, as of April 2009.
The program allows current members to set the price at which they are willing to sell their memberships. This creates a truly market-driven pricing mechanism, allowing potential golf members to buy memberships at a reduced price.
Golf memberships at the club historically sold for $52,000. In the past, golf members interested in discontinuing memberships had to wait for a prospective buyer who was willing to pay the set fee for the membership. The new approach allows current golf members to sell their memberships below the usual price. These memberships sell faster, allowing for current members to be released from club dues at a quicker rate. The club is the only one in Colorado offering such a program.
How does it work?
The Club will sell these memberships from the lowest to the highest price on a first come, first served basis. This month the membership prices range from $25,000 to $50,000. As has been the policy for the last five years, there is still no residency requirement for golf memberships.
Anyone interested in becoming a prospective club member should contact Kim Bartuccio at Contact by e-mail . Simply fill out the membership application and submit a deposit in the form of a check for $10,000. The date on which the check and application are mailed establish priority on the Preferred Prospect list. The check will not be cashed until a membership has been purchased at The club.
Calls will be made on the first day of the month between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. If a perspective member can not be reached, The club will proceed to the next person on the preferred prospect list. Prospective members must make an immediate decision regarding accepting the price for membership. Upon acceptance, the deposit check will be cashed and the proper form signed within three business days.
Should the offer of membership be declined, the name will be moved to the following month’s preferred prospect list. The process begins again on the first day of the next month. The deposit and application will be kept on file, until a membership has been purchased or the name is removed upon request, from the preferred prospect list.
According to club director Kim Bartucio, the other important change to be implemented by the club is removal of the residency requirement for social membership. There are no longer geographical boundaries required for social memberships.
“We see this new approach as the way to generate new membership in these economic times,” said Bartuccio. “It is a winning situation for both the club and potential members.”
