Surrey Ridge Estates arena gets a facelift

Contributed by Patte Smith

On Saturday, August 14, Boy Scout Troop 637, along with parents and Surrey Ridge resident volunteers, rebuilt the Surrey Ridge Estates horse riding arena.

The Surrey Ridge HOA graciously provided lunch. A huge thank you goes to Troup 637, the volunteers for their time and talents, and everyone who donated funds for materials and the individuals who mowed the arena and pulled out the rotten wood posts.

The neighborhood can now look forward to fun horse events. Special thanks also goes to Douglas County for providing two dumpsters in the neighborhood, giving residents a chance to rid themselves of unwanted items. Residents were conscientious in only placing acceptable items in the dumpsters. Thank you for such a great county to live in!
