Support School Athletics through Tri the Rock

by Belinda Paredes

Ever wished for the opportunity to encourage kids to exercise while raising money for their schools? Now Douglas County families have that opportunity through Tri the Rock. Tri the Rock is a youth USA Triathlon open to kids five through 14, to benefit school athletic programs throughout Douglas County and youth athletics in the Town of Castle Rock.

The entry fee is $30 per participant ($35 on race day), $10 of which goes to the participant’s school physical education program, and the remainder to Castle Rock youth athletics. There is an additional $3 fee for a one-day membership if the participant is not a member of USA Triathlon.

The school with the most participants will receive a party for the athletes hosted by Castle Rock Parks & Recreation at the new recreation center leisure pool, and a trophy to display for the year.

The length of the swim/bike/run depends on the age group. Please visit www.tritherock.com for more details and registration information.
