Summertime fun for Timber Trail

Timber Trail Elementary Before and After School Enterprise (BASE) students had an absolute blast this summer visiting Parker PACE Center for a live performance of Miss Nelson is Missing!, watching the Colorado Rockies play against the Cincinnati Reds, and touring the Denver Broncos training facility.

BASE camper Walker S. said he loves to go to BASE because he gets to meet friends. He was hopeful the Rockies would win against the Reds but, unfortunately, they lost 7-12. Grace G. enjoyed both Miss Nelson is Missing! and the Rockies game. She liked the costume changes and the live question and answer session following the performance. “I also loved singing along to Charlie Blackmon’s song at the Rockies game,” said Grace. Blackmon’s song Your Love by The Outfield includes crowd participation singing the “tonight” portion of the chorus.

Nicknamed for its elevation (and the corporate sponsor du jour), Empower Field at Mile High gave TTE students a glimpse of operations behind the scene and game day preparations during their BASE tour.
