Stars of Tomorrow are ready to shine

The 12th Annual Kiwanis Stars of Tomorrow Premier Talent Competition hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Castle Rock is just around the corner. More than 90 kids auditioned on January 30 displaying their acting, dancing, violin, piano and singing skills. The final competition will be held at the Lone Tree Arts Center on March 5 at 6:30 p.m.
With 23 finalists competing, five will be rewarded with scholarships in the categories of rising star, elementary, middle school, high school, and best of show. Residents of 80108 who are in the finals are Kelsey Buffington, William Cuthbert, Kennedy Johnston, Jaylyn Luber, Savannah Roach, Emma Spears, Eric Jones, Alyssa Kragel, Taylor Muckel, Anthony Bossio, Joseph Cassidy, Lina Corrales, Kaitlyn Craig, and Alli LeBlanc.
This year’s emcee will be Dave Aguilera from Channel 4 weather with Miss Denver Shannon Patilla presenting the awards, as well as judging the contestants. Coordinator Ron Claussen remarked, “The real show is watching the kids perform on ‘the big stage’ with professional sound, lighting, stage crew, etc. This year the contestants once again have stepped up their performances. I am awestruck by how professional they are!”
