Recently appointed to the Castle Pines Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors is Douglas County’s own sheriff, David Weaver. Weaver said, “I am excited to be part of the Castle Pines Chamber. I have been involved with so many business groups in that area for years, so it only made sense to solidify my involvement by joining the board.” Weaver said he sees all the chambers in the county as important partners in his goal of making the community a safe place to work and live.
Weaver is a very experienced leader who believes in strong fiscal responsibility, integrity, and community partnerships. He was elected as Douglas County Sheriff in November 2006, but actually began his service career at the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office in 1981. The chamber is very pleased to have Weaver serving on its board.
Chamber of Commerce Chairman Dan Cook appointed Weaver to the board. The chamber had four openings, of which the remaining three were filled by applicants Amy Long, Wendy Witucki & Diane Harris. The Chamber Board of Directors represents a broad cross section of business and professional leaders. The board sets the overall policy of the chamber programs and events.
Veteran board members for Castle Pines are Yolanda Bruce, Glenn Hagen, Deborah Johansen, Dr. Jason Ortman, and Terri Wiebold. Each director is essential to the success of the chamber. There will also be an upcoming election for new directors during the chamber’s annual meeting in November.
