Run Wild & Family Fit Fest

Families, neighbors and local business owners all gathered on September 16 for the community Run Wild and new Family Fit Fest at Elk Ridge Park. Runners of all ages and abilities participated in the City’s seventh annual 5K and 5-mile runs, with the overall mens and womens winners taking home a cash prize and gift certificates to local merchants. For those less competitive in the group, the ever-popular “Color Me Wild” fun run provided a splash of excitement and color.

New this year, the Castle Pines Chamber of Commerce joined with the City and brought neighborhood businesses out for a more comprehensive health and wellness experience. “The addition of the Family Fit Fest was intended to further promote our health and wellness businesses to our residents,” stated Chamber Executive Director Amy Shanahan. “We are able to bring these types of events to the community because of the generosity of our business members who are invested in making Castle Pines a wonderful place to live.”

Activities included a bouncy house, tumble bubbles, the Ninja Nation course, a mini farmers market, a pet corner – with adorable pets to adopt, free beer and a pancake breakfast.
