Residents Invited to Weigh in on Commercial Development – 10/10/04
Several residents have inquired about recent construction equipment parked on the northwest corner of Monarch and Castle Pines Parkway. Since the land is zoned for commercial development, can we expect new businesses soon? Not for now.
According to Metro District Manager, Judy Dahl, construction equipment was stored on this land temporarily. “The paving contractors that worked on our roads asked the land owner for permission to park bulldozers and other equipment there while completing the remaining paving projects,” said Dahl. Dahl said the contractors are expected to repair the landscape once the equipment is removed.
What businesses would you prefer to see on this land?
While there are no immediate plans to build on this corner, development plans can be expected someday. The Master Association is currently collecting research to share with potential developers. While landowners have rights to develop commercially zoned land in our area, we hope to use our free market research to encourage developments that are compatible with our community.
To date, the Master Association has collected information from more than 600 CPN residents. If you haven’t taken the CPN Commercial Development survey, click here and share your ideas with us. (The survey has been completed 2-3-2005 – Thank you for your participation.)
The Master Association has also formed a special Commercial Development Committee to explore ideas and gather research for our community. If you would like to volunteer for this committee, please call 303-482-3078 or e-mail admin@cpnhoa.org for more information.
