The Make-A-Wish Foundation recently recognized Rock Canyon High School (RCHS) for its generous and record breaking donation to fulfill the once-in-a lifetime wishes for three kids, Harley, Landin, and Stella.
In one week RCHS was able to make a donation in excess of $15,000 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. This amount represents the largest school donation ever provided through the Colorado Make-A-Wish school fund raising challenge. It also far exceeded the original school goal of raising $6,000!
RCHS student council organized a dodge ball tournament, a faculty versus student basketball game, dress up days, and sold wish kits of t-shirts and wrist bands to the student body.
At the final assembly, RCHS presented its check to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Students presented their gifts to Harley and celebrated the fund raising milestones with the faculty performing various tasks for each $1,000 that was raised more than the original goal. It was an amazing and gratifying week which displayed the heart, compassion and humanity of the RCHS community.
