For more than 20 years, the “Ladies Nine in the Pines” golf league has been hosting an annual golf tournament at The Country Club at Castle Pines. This year’s successful event, “Rally for Research” was held on June 20, and it was an enjoyable and successful day with all money raised going to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF).

Open to women golfers at the club, the ladies look forward to having some fun and raising money for such a worthy cause which has affected many people and their families. They were proud to report that more than $10,000 was raised on behalf of breast cancer research. With a four out of four star rating, the BCRF, which was founded by cosmetic giant Evelyn Lauder (a breast cancer survivor), is dedicated to achieving prevention and finding a cure for breast cancer. Chairing the tournament this year were Louise Bowen and Nicki Thibault, with support from Ann Connor. The special guest speaker was member Marcy Blair. Marcy is a breast cancer survivor whose encouragement to all was, “Reach out to friends and family going through the struggle of breast cancer, and let them know you are there to help and listen. If you notice anything that doesn’t seem right, have it checked out… and get your annual mammogram!”
