Two newcomers to the 80108 dining scene are Zoës Kitchen and Rocket Fizz, both featuring back-to-basics products and a bit of nostalgia.

Zoës promises ingredients that are delivered fresh daily. Their team hand-washes, cuts and prepares each item from scratch in the kitchen because as founder Zoë Cassimus said, “if it wasn’t food 100 years ago, it’s not food today.” Nothing is fried and there are no microwaves! What you’ll find at Zoës Kitchen is Mediterranean-inspired food, where grilling is the predominate method of cooking along with an abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables, fresh herbs, olive oil and lean proteins; all while keeping dietary concerns in mind with gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options.

Rocket Fizz Soda Pop and Candy Shop, on the other hand, celebrates life’s concoctions and indulgences. The store offers one of the largest and craziest selections of glass-bottled soda pops in America and carries thousands of unique and fun candies, gag gifts and toys, nostalgic tin signs and many other surprises. When a customer enters the store, they are usually overwhelmed visually by the amount of colorful inventory. Every type of retro candy imaginable is available in abundance. Parents, plan on spending some time walking down memory lane while shopping with your kids, who will insist on coming back for more.

If you haven’t visited Promenade at Castle Rock recently, drive by and check out all the new stores and restaurants just south and west of the outlets.
