Project Lifesaver Signed into Law
On May 30, Governor Bill Ritter signed into law HB 1064, also known as Project Lifesaver. This legislation will provide start-up funds for those counties statewide wishing to participate in this program. Project Lifesaver involves tracking technology that reduces search time to less than 25 minutes for people who are prone to wander and get lost as a result of conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease, Down syndrome and autism. Not only does this provide peace of mind for caregivers, but it is also a tremendous savings to law enforcement.
For information about how to particpate in this program, contact the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office at 303-660-7500 or read more at www.cpnhoa.org.
