Place all bets to win at the derby
Sky View Farm is more than a barn, it is a family. While Sky View Farm is an equestrian center, the Farm is also a place for alternative learning and therapy for kids and the community. Owner and manager Wendy Ingraham and her family opened up the Farm over the weekend to welcome visitors for a different type of experience.
Guests got to place bets and gambling chips for chances to win at the 2022 Fall Fundraiser Rose Casino and Mini Derby. Held on September 24, Sky View Farm hosted the celebration that included mini horse races, horse viewings, a wine pull, gaming tables and slot machines. The horse racing focused on local nonprofits that support either mental health or animal rescue programs: Robin’s Nest Foundation, Mile High Rescue and Purple Lotus Warrior Yoga.
Family, friends and supporters donned cowboy boots and hats and came to dance, bid on silent auction items – including an African safari trip and a Peyton Manning Broncos jersey, and play at casino tables while sipping on adult beverages and nibbling on appetizers.
Robin’s Nest Foundation focuses on a community where people connect with nature through equine therapy. For more information, visit www.robinsnestcharity.org.
