Cutest Pet in the Pines

After much debate and deliberation, third graders at Buffalo Ridge Elementary selected the Cutest Pet in the Pines before heading home for winter break. The vote ended in a tie between Briggs and Copper. Fortunately, the principal was able to break the tie – naming Briggs the 2019 Cutest Pet in the Pines.

Tony’s Meats & Market in The Village at Castle Pines Village hosted more than 100 guests for Beef & Bourbon Night – celebrating the grand opening of Tony's new Dry Age Meat room. Samples of Tony’s new Butcher’s Pantry sauces were paired with a selection of fine bourbon. Tony’s CEO, Daniel Rosacci, gave a lighthearted and educational speech about the dry aging process.

Tony’s Meats & Market in The Village at Castle Pines hosted a hog roast in conjunction with the annual Hot Rods in The Village car show on Saturday, August 10. Many makes and models of vintage cars lined the streets and live music entertained the crowds, while the savory smell of roasted pork sandwiches and sausages beckoned to all who passed by.

Unmasked; A Masquerade Party

The City of Castle Pines partnered once again with Mental Health Colorado for the annual Unmasked; A Masquerade Party. The evening was filled with emotional and inspirational stories of tragedy and triumph in the arena of mental illness and substance use. More than $75,000 was raised toward the efforts of promoting mental health, ending stigmas surrounding mental illness, and ensuring equitable access to mental health and substance use services in Colorado.

Food Truck Frenzy

Residents of Castle Pines and surrounding communities came out in force to enjoy the 4th Annual Food Truck Frenzy. The event included 14 food trucks, 36 vendor booths, live music, a pet area with a pet treat truck, an arts and crafts truck and a kids corner with a huge rock wall, craft area and bouncy houses.

[Smash] Fine Arts Festival

Residents in and around the Castle Pines community were treated to an eclectic mixture of fine art at the [SMASH] Fine Arts Festival held in The Village at Castle Pines shoppes.
The outdoor exhibit showcased a variety of national artists with displays of painting, photography, mixed media and jewelry. The two-day event was a great kick off to the summer events calendar.

With the most perfect weather imaginable, hundreds of Castle Pines families gathered at The Ridge to participate in the City of Castle Pines Egg Scramble. In three separate waves according to age, the air horn sounded and children flooded the greens to collect eggs stuffed with candy, fun prizes and great gift certificates.

Wildcat Corner Revealed; History in the Making

Well-wishers and dignitaries celebrated the opening of the Wildcat Corner exhibit at the Castle Pines Homes Association building in The Village at Castle Pines. Inspired by his Wildcat Lore monthly column in The Connection newspaper, local historian Joe Gschwendtner features the early history of Douglas County.
