Permanent Superintendent Search

Information provided by the Douglas County School District

The Douglas County School District (DCSD) is seeking its next permanent superintendent.  The DCSD Board of Education has selected Ray and Associates (no relation to DCSD Board Director, David Ray) to conduct the search for the next superintendent, following a thorough vetting of potential search firms.

In order to fund the cost of a national superintendent search, DCSD re-prioritized its board’s operational budget to ensure that there would be no impact on any other budget in the system.

The cost of the firm, excluding travel expenses, is $40,000. The money will come from the school board’s budget, which is used for costs such as legal expenses and conferences. To fund the search, the board also discontinued contracting with a lobbyist to save money.

To provide in put on priorities, take the short online survey where you can select the top ten qualifications you believe the permanent superintendent should possess. Go to www.dcsdk12.org/superintendent-search.
