Parker Water wins safety award

Parker Water & Sanitation District (PWSD), the water district for The Canyons neighborhood, has been named the Safest District of the Year by the Colorado Special Districts Property and Liability Pool (CSD).

The CSD, an organization made up of more than 1,500 member districts that oversee water, sanitation, fire rescue, parks and recreation and other critical services in Colorado, called out PWSD’s strong commitment to loss-control, risk management and safety. Specifically, PWSD’s creation of a Safety Advisory Council, its Close Call Reporting System, and its openness to coordinating efforts and training opportunities with other agencies were named as reasons for the award.

PWSD Board Chair Merlin Klotz said, “Our vision statement is ‘Sustaining Life for Our Community.’ That motivates PWSD as an organization to ensure that safety is incorporated throughout our operations because we know the importance of what we do for our customers and the community we serve.” For more information visit PWSD.org.
