Each year, eighth grade teachers are asked to nominate outstanding eighth grade students for the Douglas County Federation of Teachers Eighth Grade Student Recognition Award.
The criteria for nomination is a student’s scholarship, creativity, responsibility, school and community involvement, and cooperation with students and teachers. Many eighth grade students can be described as having these qualities, so the nomination decision is a tough one.
This year, RHMS chose Hadyn Drabing as their outstanding eighth grade student. Eighth grade Social Studies teacher, Sharon Majetich says, “Hadyn is a dedicated student and a very nice person. He is a wonderful student to have in class.”
At Rocky Heights, the school philosophy is ROK: Respect it, Own it and be Kind. Hadyn truly exemplifies this motto. Congratulations, Hadyn! You ROK!
