Everybody knows the tale of The Three Little Pigs, but does anybody know the story of the three little babies? Once there were three little babies – the babies’ names were Ashton, Connor, and Cooper. There were also three moms who were teachers at Buffalo Ridge Elementary School (BRE) – Mrs. Brester, Mrs. Herzog, and Mrs. Jacoway. The most unusual part about this story is that all three teachers had baby boys during the same week and two babies were born on the same day!
The first little baby’s name is Ashton. Ashton is a very strong baby. He can lift his head up and make little grunts. Ashton was the first baby born, so he is the oldest. He was born on October 17, at 2:45 p.m. Ashton is Mrs. Brester’s third baby. Mrs. Brester says, “I never knew that having three babies would make me so happy. I’m completely in love with Ashton; he makes my heart melt.” Mrs. Brester also adds, “Although there are a lot of stinky diapers to change and I don’t get enough sleep, Ashton is worth it! The best thing about having a new baby is snuggle time. I also love his soft skin, the way he smells, and the cute ways he stretches.”
The second little baby’s name is Connor. Connor was born Saturday, October 22, at 12:55 a.m. Connor is Mrs. Herzog’s first baby. Mrs. Herzog says, “I never realized how life changing having a baby would be. People tell you, but you can’t really understand until the baby arrives. It is a miracle and I feel so lucky to have a healthy baby boy. I love being a mom already and it will only get more and more fun!” Everyday activities, such as eating dinner, are affected when you have a newborn. Mrs. Herzog shares, “My baby is a snuggle bug. He makes the cutest faces and loves to sit with us at the dinner table. It is kind of hard to eat with one hand so I can hold Connor with my other hand! My husband had to cut my steak for me the other day so Connor could join the family dinner time.”
Last, but not least, comes the third little baby, Cooper. Cooper was also born on Saturday, October 22, at 2:04 p.m. He is Mrs. Jacoway’s first baby. You can hear the excitement in Mrs. Jacoway’s voice when she talks about her new baby. “It is a wonderful joy that cannot be put into words!” She continues with her enthusiastic attitude when she talks about the first time that the three teachers heard they were having babies at the same time. “It was crazy and exciting. I hope the boys become good friends and have lots of play dates!”
Even though all three teachers are up a lot at night, it is obvious that their new babies are a joy. Who would have thought that three teachers from the same school would all have baby boys within a few days of each other? As in the story, The Three Little Pigs, each boy will have his challenges, but with the support of family and the BRE community, they will all build strong relationships that will carry them successfully through their lives.
