Nuzum Appointed to Metro District Board
Linda Nuzum has been appointed to the Castle Pines North Metro District Board of Directors. The Board interviewed three candidates for this position.
“Linda has been active in many community organizations for several years and is intimately aware of the many complexities involved in implementing actions and understanding intercommunity dynamics,” said John Ewing, President of the Metro District Board.
Metro District Manager Judy Dahl said Nuzum will bring years of valuable experience to the Board. “Linda is not only extremely involved with our community, but her management consulting experience will be a tremendous asset to the Metro Board,” said Dahl.
Nuzum is currently President of the CPN Master Association. She has served the CPN community as a volunteer for more than five years. Nuzum will serve on the Metro Board until the May, 2006, election, at which time she can choose to run as an incumbent to fill the two remaining years.
The Metro District Board vacancy was due to the resignation of Cheryl McDade. An active community volunteer for more than 10 years, Cheryl was a member of both the Metro District and Master Association Boards. Cheryl was instrumental in achieving the District’s financial turnaround after the bankruptcy of the early 1990’s. Through refinancing and taking advantage of favorable interest rates, Cheryl worked to get the District’s total assessed valuation to exceed its debt, a goal that was reached in 2001. This allowed the District to reduce tax rates for bond payments by 25 percent.
Few are aware of the countless hours Cheryl contributed in order for our community to reach the financially solvent position it now enjoys. She deserves our thanks for a job well done!
