News from Forest Park

Submitted by Celeste Siade
VP of Forest Park HOA

Once again, on the first Friday of December, Cindy Hamilton hosted her Annual Ladies Luncheon at her home in Forest Park.

What started out six years ago as a social event- for friends to exchange unique gift ideas in order to help each other out with holiday shopping- has evolved into a full blown charity event.

Four years ago, Celeste Siade introduced the idea of a silent auction during the luncheon so that those in attendance could purchase each other’s gifts, further helping their shopping endeavors, and all the money raised would be given to charity. The women raised $800 their first year.

This event has grown since then and this year included a “live auction” hosted by local television anchors Tom Green and Angie Austin. This year’s auction raised over $6,000 for three different charities.

The money raised was donated to the Douglas County Task Force, Families of First of Colorado and Opportunity International. This annual event is only possible with the donations of generous women in our community and the support of many. Special thanks to all those involved who contributed to the success of this year’s ladies luncheon.
