Spring Gala – “A Night on Treasure Island” – Saturday, April 21
The American Academy Spring Gala will be held at the Marriott Denver South at Park Meadows on Saturday, April 21. The silent auction, live auction, dinner and dancing event will help raise money for Math, Science and Technology programs, the library, teacher funds, families in need, and the permanent building. Tickets are $75 per couple and $40 per individual and are on sale now online and at the front office. Last year, the event raised over $43,000 for the school and this year the hope is to raise $45,000.

Music Man Jr.
Performances have been set for the youth adaptation of “The Music Man” by Meredith Willson. The shows will be held on Thursday, May 3 and Friday, May 4. Check the website for ticket sales information.
Denver/Metro Regional Science Fair Awards
Congratulations to the following American Academy Students:
Srish Sharma came in first place in Physics. Srish will represent American Academy at the state Science Fair in April.
J.D. Gordon came in first place in Health and Human Behavior. J.D. will also represent American Academy at the State Science Fair.
Jesse Walters came in second place in Chemistry.
Adam Cree came in third place in Zoology.
Rachel Anderson came in third place in Environmental Health.
Special Awards –
Sam Bontje received award for excellence in research involving water quality.
Rachel Anderson received medal from the Office of Naval Research, award of excellence.
Rachel Anderson received medal from the Cherry Creek Partnership/Earth Force for outstanding work.
Spelling Bee Winner – Congratulations to Matthew Haney for placing among the top spellers at the District Spelling Bee competition and for qualifying to represent American Academy at the State Spelling Bee.
