New Douglas County Commissioner sworn in

On December 17, 2024 Kevin Van Winkle took the oath of office, having recently been elected to the office of Douglas County Commissioner for District III.

Prior to his role as a County Commissioner, Kevin served in the State Senate since June 2022. Prior to his time in the Senate, he served the people of Douglas County for nearly eight years as a State Representative.

Van Winkle has deep roots in Douglas County, the place he was born and raised, where he started his business, and is raising his young family. He lives in Highlands Ranch with his wife, Kelly, and two children, ages 5 and 8. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Douglas County Community Foundation, volunteers regularly at his children’s charter school, is a proud member of his church community, and plays on a local ice hockey team.
