New community park opens in City of Castle Pines
By Kathy Dunker
Castle Pines residents are invited to the grand opening celebration of the much-anticipated new Elk Ridge Park on Saturday, September 17.
This magnificent park will be the largest amenity that the Castle Pines community has funded in its history and will rival virtually any major park throughout the region.
Elk Ridge Park is multi-generational and consists of approximately 12 acres with trails, large turf athletic fields, open space, art features, playground equipment, climbing wall, water features, attractive landscaping, and more.
The grand opening festivities begin at noon and will include kickball, family fun games, live music, a dedication ceremony, community picnic, and an ice cream social. The park is located on Mira Vista Lane off Lagae Road, just north of American Academy Charter School.
The park was made possible by the residents of Castle Pines, the Castle Pines Parks Authority, HOA 1, the Castle Pines North Master Association, the Castle Pines North Metropolitan District, the City of Castle Pines, Great Outdoors Colorado, and the generous land donations to the city from HF Holdings, the developer of the Lagae Ranch development.
The collaborative effort resulted in a beautiful, community park with amenities that will accommodate large events for residents to enjoy for many years to come.
