New commercial district takes shape

Last month, construction and infrastructure work began on the southwest corner of Castle Pines Parkway and Lagae Road.
Since the City’s incorporation in 2008, the roughly 10-acre parcel of land has remained vacant. It was recently purchased and subdivided into six parcels (and one tract), two of which were dedicated to the City for a future city hall building and a potential future community center or other civic amenity.
This will be the first time in nearly a decade the City of Castle Pines expects to see commercially-zoned construction west
of I-25.
Phase I construction efforts include grading, utility installation and roadway and sidewalk improvements. Although no additional construction is currently scheduled after Phase I, the property is actively being marketed to attract retail, investors and employers.
Any future development of the site will require additional City approval.
