National Prescription Drug Take Back Day
By Patte Smith
The 2019 National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is Saturday, April 27. This special day was established to help provide citizens with a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications.
In Douglas County, Drug Take Back Day will be held at two locations from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
– Douglas County Sheriff substation, 9250 Zotos Drive, Highlands Ranch
– King Soopers, 4000 Red Cedar Drive, Highlands Ranch
Walgreens stores provide a year-round safe drug disposal option in all pharmacies at no cost to individuals. The company encourages Americans to “clean out their medicine cabinets” in an effort to combat the opioid epidemic in the U.S.
