One of the largest online wedding resources in the country, Mywedding.com, opened a new office in March and is now a neighbor to the Castle Pines community. Located just off Founders Parkway west of I-25 in Castle Rock, the new location is the perfect spot because of its central location between two major metropolitan markets – Denver and Colorado Springs, according to president and CEO Woody Pastorius.
“Castle Rock has great demographics; it’s a smaller community and we are happy to bring more attention to it,” said Pastorius. “We want to personally connect with the local vendors in all of our office locations and become an active member of each community.”
Bachelors in the Wedding Planning Business Mywedding.com was started in late 2001 by three bachelors, two of whom were planning to get married. The three friends decided to buy Myseattlewedding.com after experiencing first-hand the difficulty of being able to track down wedding vendors and resources for their own weddings. The business has grown ever since, expanding into three physical locations and 69 virtual markets. This spring, Mywedding.com will have 140 virtual markets.
What Mywedding.com offers
Mywedding.com provides the resources for practically everything a bridal couple may be shopping for. Couples use the local vendor guide for the city and state of their choice. The vendor guides offer a wide range of services at various price points so couples are able the find the right vendors to match their style and budget. Couples can customize their wedding by choosing from among 58 categories of wedding resources. “We feature only credible wedding vendors, typically defined as established businesses with a positive track record on their offered services,” Pastorius said.
Pastorius described Mywedding.com’s average wedding couples as young (mid to late 20’s) and independent working couples who spend an average of $28,000 on their wedding. They tend to favor the do-it-yourself, non-traditional, and green bridal trends.
