Municipal Updates

Monarch Boulevard is closed between Castle Pines Parkway and Glen Oaks Avenue for reconstruction that is expected to be completed in September. It is advised to take alternate routes: Buffalo Trail and Daniel’s Gate Roads.

Monarch Boulevard under construction until September

On March 17, Monarch Boulevard closed for reconstruction between Castle Pines Parkway and Glen Oaks Avenue for Phase One of the City of Castle Pines (City) Road Solutions initiative. Phase Two will commence when Phase One is completed.

The estimated completion date is this September.

Homes within the road closure area will remain accessible but only available to residents and emergency vehicles. For other residents, it is advisable to take alternate routes: Buffalo Trail and Daniels Gate Roads.

The Road Solutions improvements:

  • Roadway removal and asphalt replacement
  • Safety enhancements
  • Stormwater infrastructure improvements
  • Six-foot bike lanes
  • 4,300 feet of a new water line

In November 2023, Castle Pines voters approved a one-percent sales and use tax increase to fund road repairs, maintenance and capital improvement projects in Castle Pines. Revenues collected from this approved tax can only be used to improve the City’s roadway system.

Slash collection on May 11

On Saturday, May 11, the City of Castle Pines will host a “slash collection” event at Elk Ridge Park from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bring any tree limbs, prunings, pine needles or other yard debris. If not removed, slash can add to potential fire hazards on your property. The City is dedicated to mitigating risks of wildfire and other environmental hazards.
