Multi-sport athlete hits the greens

Multi-sport athlete Caden Broghammer (14) was all smiles on day one of the BMW Championship last month.

Caden Broghammer is not the typical 14-year-old athlete. A freshman at Rock Canyon High School, Caden is a golfer, a year-around swimmer and a mountain biker.

On his swim team, ROCK Swim Team, he has achieved state rankings. “I made it to state in the short and long courses,” said Caden.

He recently joined the High School Mountain Biking team, which is a combined club team of Rock Canyon, Mountain Vista, and Thunder Ridge high schools.

“I love to mountain bike and I am excited to be on this club team,” shared Caden.

He began playing PGA Jr. League golf in the third grade. “I have friends that play with me and we have an amazing time,” shared Caden. The PGA Jr. League is a youth program aimed to make golf accessible to every child.

In August, Caden, along with family and friends, attended the BMW Championship golf tournament at the Castle Pines Golf Club.

“It was so fun, but there were long walks to the holes,” shared Caden. “Many pro golfers signed my hat and I got the famous milkshake.”

Caden has lived in the Village for seven years with mom Tracey, dad Robert and siblings Jordan and Ava. The Broghammers have two dogs, a Belgian Malinois named Chance and a Dutch Shepherd named Rebel.

Several pro golfers signed Caden’s hat, which features the Castle Pines Golf Club iconic milkshake on it.
