Beginning in February, the City of Castle Pines will begin extending the end of Monarch Boulevard east through the [currently under construction] Lagae Ranch development to a new roundabout at the intersection of Monarch and re-aligned Lagae Road. The new roadway is designed to improve access and connectivity of the city’s street network and mitigate traffic impacts of new development. Extending Monarch creates a new connection with Lagae Road and eventually Happy Canyon to provide easy access to I-25, ultimately easing congestion on Castle Pines Parkway.
“While the extension of Monarch won’t have a direct impact on school traffic, other improvements – the additional lane on Mira Vista, the roundabout at Mira Vista and Lagae, and the future improvement to the intersection of Lagae and Castle Pines Parkway – are designed to improve access and traffic flow for both the school and the greater community, said City spokesperson Kim Newcomer.
