Middle School at American Academy Ranked Number Six in Colorado

The Colorado School Accountability Reports (SAR) have listed American Academy’s middle school as number six in the state.

According to American Academy Chief Administrative Officer Roberta Harrell, eight of the top 10 schools on the SAR list were charter schools.

“We are proud of both our elementary and middle school for receiving a “high” and “excellent” rating, respectively, for overall academic performance,” Harrell said.

American Academy’s middle school has also been the receipient of the John Irwin School of Excellence award for three consecutive years.

The Colorado SAR is prepared by the Colorado Department of Education and includes detailed financial, statistical and CSAP performance data.

The K-8 Douglas County public charter school plans to open their new facility in Castle Pines North in September. The school has been temporarily located in Lone Tree for almost four years. Once completed, American Academy will be the first and only middle school in the City of Castle Pines North.
