Metro District Update
by Terri Wiebold
The Castle Pines North (CPN) Metro District has upgraded its website and has posted a variety of articles pertaining to its activities. It is also in the process of building a database for e-mail communications throughout the community.
Another ever-present priority for the District is securing funding for reliable and renewable water. A major source of potential funding through water use and tap fees is the proposed Lagae development. In October, the Metro board voted to include the Lagae development within its district boundaries, though the final inclusion agreement was still being hammered out as of press time.
The District is also working in conjunction with the Parks Authority to improve safety at the sledding hill located on the northeast corner of Castle Pines Parkway and Monarch Boulevard, and it has also been involved in the proposed alternate sledding hill for the land just west of Coyote Ridge Park.
The District is currently evaluating a potential partnership with Parker Water and Sanitation District and the Castle Pines Metro District to build a 24 to 30” inch, six mile pipeline and pump station upgrade. The District will perform a routing study to determine what impact a relocation of Daniels Park Road would have on the project and on the community. Watch for further details in upcoming editions of The Connection.
