Members and Margaritas Local Business Owners Meet and Greet
by Elean Gersack
On Thursday, April 12, more than 25 local business owners attended the kick-off event for Business in the Pines – an association formed by the Castle Pines North (CPN) Master Association in January to unite local businesses. Members and Margaritas was organized as a meet and greet opportunity for store-front and home-based business association members.
During the event, attendees enjoyed a taco bar with all the fixings as well as brownies and cake for dessert. The table was adorned with a centerpiece created by The Flower Shop at Castle Pines. Castle Pines North Wine & Spirits served up delicious mango, pomegranate, watermelon, strawberry and traditional margaritas.
Several non-members, including Jim Varner, owner of Edit Bay Communications (a web development and e-commerce company), stopped by the event to learn more about Business in the Pines. Varner was so impressed with everyone he spoke with that he joined the association on the spot.
“People are more likely to work with people they know and like, so it’s really all about the connections we make as business owners,” said Varner. Varner hopes to dive right in and help the group organize educational seminars and other learning opportunities.
Beyond the great food and drinks, all those who attended had an opportunity to learn more about other businesses in the area. “People stayed several hours and had a great time mingling with other business owners,” said Carla Kenny, vice president of Business in the Pines. “It was a nice occasion for everyone to relax and get to know each other.”
