The Make-A-Wish Foundation was chosen once again as part of the Checkoff Colorado program for 2011. This program enables Colorado taxpayers to make voluntary contributions to their favorite charitable organizations, typically from their tax refund, when they file their state income tax return. The option is on Line 40 of tax returns this year instead of Line 41.
The Make-a-Wish Foundation strives to enrich the human experience for children with life threatening medical conditions by fulfilling their wishes.
Melissa Morris, director of communications for Make-a-Wish had this to say, “When faced with a life-threatening illness, Colorado children turn to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Colorado as a source of hope, strength and joy. It is because of generous supporters, like those who donate on their state tax return, that the Make-A-Wish Foundation is able to make these children’s wishes come true.”
