Lutheran High School boys and girls varsity basketball teams took fifth and third at the state finals last month, a true achievement for a new program at a growing school.
“It was a lot of fun to play with the team this year,” said Reilly Carew, a junior who lives in Castle Pines. “This is the strongest our sports have ever been, and the team is like a family.”
Carew said that coach Ryan Bredow is a big part of the reason the team had a great season.
“He’s one of the best coaches I’ve ever had,” said Carew. “He’s like an older brother and a lot of fun to be around.”
The boys team beat Resurrection Christian High School 83-35 for its fifth place spot. The girls team, led by Coach Mark Duitsman, beat Simla High School 61-44 for its third place spot.
