Local farmers markets benefit growers and consumers

Each year The Connection features a list of local farmers markets in support of regional growers and communities. Fresh and flavorful produce is plentiful throughout the summer, and visiting an outdoor “grocer” is a fun family outing. Many markets not only sell fruits and vegetables, but also offer special items such as fresh bread, jams and jellies, flowers and yummy goodies. The farm2tablecolorado markets sell grass-fed beef and other meat products that have not been exposed to hormones, antibiotics or other chemicals. Boulter’s 5280 Urban Market is located at the old Safeway parking lot in Castle Pines on Wednesdays from 3 p.m. through 7 p.m., May 4 through October 26. The market offers locally grown vegetables, wines, meats, dairy and other fresh food items.
