Little Italy Pizzeria is now providing some delicious lunch alternatives for the students of American Academy (AA) five days a week as of August 29. The majority of Little Italy’s products are made in house, cutting down on preservatives, excess sodium, and fat from the students’ diets. Fruits and vegetables are prepared fresh daily as well.

Lisa Towne, owner of Little Italy, commented, “We are very excited about this opportunity!

Three years ago I started looking for opportunities to diversify our business. We started supplying Douglas County School District Nutrition Services and American Academy Charter School with pizzas for their lunch programs in the 2009-2010 school year. Our products have been well received!”

This year the students at American Academy can also enjoy Little Italy’s homemade mac and cheese, sloppy joes, and baked chicken tenders just to name a few. Towne went on to say, “We are grateful that AA has chosen a local company to service its school lunch program, keeping dollars and jobs in our community.” In addition, students at DCS Montessori, Renaissance Charter, Academy Charter, and Challenge to Excellence Charter School will be enjoying Little Italy Pizza every Thursday.
