Little Italy Owner to Appear on Television’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition”

Marc and Lisa Towne, CPN residents and the owners of Little Italy Pizzeria in the Castle Pines Marketplace, recently got involved with “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” and Marc will appear on national television when the show airs.

As Director of Purchasing for Standard Pacific home builders, Marc organized the contractors and suppliers who built a complete duplex in Arvada, Colorado. The workers broke ground on a Tuesday, and the family was able to move into a finished and furnished home the following Sunday. The episode will be aired on ABC during a Sunday evening this winter.

During the round-the-clock construction marathon, Lisa Towne and Little Italy provided a hot meal of lasagna, manicotti, soup, salad, sausage, peppers, and bread for the tired, hungry and cold cast and crew.

“It’s been really neat, everyone really pitches in,” said Lisa about the experience. She recalled that when she arrived with the food, two people helped her unload the van. “They turned out to be roofing inspectors,” Lisa marvelled. (For those wondering why their own home-building projects take longer than five days, Lisa revealed that the network has county inspectors on the site 24-hours-a-day, so there is no waiting for approvals before moving on.) According to Lisa, Marc left the site for only six hours during the project.

The duplex was built in conjunction with Home-Aid, and all of the man-hours and materials were donated.

Look for a CPN e-mail alert to announce when the broadcast is scheduled to air.
