Library’s Bookmobile Lease Extended
The Douglas County Library System has extended its bookmobile lease through the end of 2005. This means that CPN’s bookmobile service will continue at least through the end of next year.
“We have done very well, and are getting a lot of community support,” says Peg Hooper, Satellite Services Manager for Douglas County Libraries.
The bookmobile offered three reading programs for the summer, all of which ended on August 7. The programs were for children and adults alike. All groups were encouraged to read as many books as possible, and prizes, including two roundtrip tickets on Frontier Airlines, were given away.
Now that fall is approaching, the bookmobile plans to start offering a Children’s storytime and an adult book club. More details will be announced soon.
“Remember that the bookmobile can order books from any of the Douglas County Libraries, so you have many resources at your disposal. Besides books, we also have music CD’s, DVD’s, magazines, books on tape and books on CD – – all available for checkout in the bookmobile,” says Hooper
The bookmobile is in CPN three days per week. It is located in the King Soopers Parking Lot, and regular hours are noon – 5 p.m. on Sundays and 3 p.m. – 8 p.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays.
