Legacy Village remembers veterans

Legacy Village of Castle Pines hosted a Veterans Day celebration on November 11 for all residents and their guests. Upbeat musical trio, The Hoagies sang classical melodies to include the service songs from each military branch. Sven Hillring of the American Military Living History Association brought his personal collection of artifacts from World War I and II, to include various rifles, a WWI minor surgery kit, wash kits, helmets, uniforms and more. Visiting Angels sponsored Sven’s visit to the retirement facility.

“Our Veteran’s Day Celebration honored all who have served, supported those who have served, and for those that have benefitted from those who have served by celebrating them.  It was a fun day of dancing, laughing, honoring and celebrating,” said Lara Moehlenpah, life enrichment director of Legacy Village.

“It concluded with the residents – along with the band – standing and pledging allegiance to the flag. We love our vets!”
